Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Gita Darshan (“the App”) handles information. The App is designed for offline listening to Bhagavad Gita shlokas with Sanskrit text, translation, narration, and on-device character animations.
1. Information we collect
The App does not require an account and does not collect personal data on our servers.
On your device only, the App may store:
- An optional display name you type in Profile
- Language preference (Hindi / English)
- Playback preferences (autoplay next verse, background audio)
- Listening progress (last verse opened / verses you opened)
This data stays on your device using local storage and is not uploaded by us.
2. Advertising ID
The App does not use advertising, tracking, or the Android Advertising ID. We do not show ads and do not share device advertising identifiers with third parties.
3. Permissions & audio
The App may request permissions needed for audio playback, including keeping audio playing when the App is in the background (media playback / foreground service). Internet permission may exist for store updates or future features; shloka content and audio bundled with the App are intended to work offline.
4. Children’s privacy
The App is a general educational / spiritual listening app. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent and believe a child provided information in local Profile fields, you can clear app data or uninstall the App.
5. Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information. Because listening preferences and the optional name are stored only on your device, there is no cloud profile to share.
Note: Google Play and your device manufacturer may process data under their own policies when you download or update the App from Google Play.
6. Data deletion
You can clear listening progress from the Profile screen in the App, or clear all App storage / uninstall the App from your device settings to remove locally stored preferences.
7. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date.
